Standing Forehead to Knee

I have put off posting this pose because it’s the hardest for me to do.  They say the one that’s the hardest is the one you need the most. So I guess this is mine.

This is Dandayamana Janushirsasana, or standing forehead to knee. Now, it’s pretty obvious from my pictures, head to knee is a long ways away.  Even in my best picture, (which I can literally hold for single digit seconds at this point) and I’ve just started to kick out.
Reality is that I usually can only get this far on my right leg, (the non-recovering from surgery one)

And even less on my left recovering leg.

I’ve got a long way to go in this pose, but I love the practice! I think the important thing I realized last night is to just be in the pose, it’s about taking one at a time and getting through that moment. It’s not about the last pose, or the next-just the now pose. I’m learning to let go of expectations and do each pose as it comes.
