What is Yin?

We’ve all heard of Yin and Yang.

So there is a “Yin” Yoga. What does that mean? It is the opposite of everything you do, what is it you do? Do you ski? Yin is the opposite of that. Slow, deliberate, stretch, opening, warming, calming. Run, bike, CrosSport? Whatever it is, Yin is the opposite. It is the antidote to life’s struggle, life’s activities. It is the vaccine to stress.

Yin Yoga is long slow stretching that I just love with even my current limited activity. But what most people don’t know about me is my mind is 100 miles an hour 24/7. So for an hour, I have found Yin, it is the opposite of my chaotic mind. It calms, centers, gets you into the moment, the stretch, the release and breath. It’s the basics, it’s the anti. It is everything you need from everything you usually do.
